Read AI, a productivity-focused AI startup, announced a $50 million Series B funding round led by Smash Capital. This funding will help the company expand its AI tools for meeting notes, summarization, and transcription.
The Seattle-based startup has developed a generative AI-powered tool that enables enterprise workers to quickly understand what’s happening across all their communication and collaboration channels, such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Gmail, Zoom, Outlook, Salesforce, and Hubspot. The tool listens in on video calls, takes notes, and provides summaries at the end of the call, ensuring that nothing important is missed.
In addition to meeting summarization, Read AI also offers tools to coach users on improving their speaking abilities and provides email and messaging summarization. The company recently launched a new tool called Read AI for Gmail, which integrates directly with the user’s Gmail account to streamline email management by surfacing the most relevant information and drafting responses based on previous communications.
The Series B funding round comes just six months after Read AI raised $21 million in a Series A round, bringing the company’s total amount raised to $81 million.
The new funding will be used to accelerate product development and expand the company’s reach.
Read AI’s CEO, David Shim, stated that the company aims to become everyone’s AI copilot, enhancing digital interactions and making them more efficient. With the new funding, Read AI plans to continue developing its AI tools and expanding its user base.
